Liliana Buchtik, PMP, PMI-RMP specializes in project management and is worldwide known as an author, trainer, keynote speaker, and consultant. She is the author of Secrets to Mastering the WBS in Real-World Projects-Second Edition published by Project Management Institute (PMI) in the United States. She is the only Latin-American individual whose book was edited and published by PMI. She is also the author of two Spanish best-selling books Secrets to Mastering Risk Management in Real-World Projects-Third Edition - the first and only Spanish book about project risk management, and Secrets to Passing the PMI-RMP. She holds the Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP®) international credentials.

She brings global and diverse experiences from diverse management and project management positions from close to thirty countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and North America. She has worked for leading private, public, and not for profit organizations in diverse industries such as technology, oil and gas, mining, engineering and construction, among others. Her books are the foundations for best practices at leading organizations such as Inter-American Development Bank in USA, DELL in Mexico, COPA Airlines in Panama, Antamina Mining Company in Peru, PricewaterhouseCoopers in Colombia, IBM in Singapore, Avianca in El Salvador, among others. She has trained the personnel of globally known projects and megaprojects including the Panama Canal Expansion Program.

For five years she had the unique privilege to be among PMI staff in the United States, the worldwide leading project management professional association. Among other positions and roles, she was an Information Technology Project Manager for PMI in Pennsylvania, wasPMI Representative for Latin-America and the Caribbean, she was a facilitator at PMI Mega Certification Events in China, Ireland, The Neatherlands, Mexico and Brazil, which is an event where PMP exam questions are developed.

Her books are used and/or recommended by distinguished universities in America, Africa, Asia, and Europe, such as at the MsPM of Mumbai University in India, Swinburne University in Malaysia, Laval Université in Canada, Boston University in the USA, INCAE in Spain, ESPAE School of Management in Ecuador, among many others. She has also taught at business schools and universities in Europe and in Latin America such as at the international businesses masters program at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences in Austria or at ISEDE School of Business in Uruguay.

In 2008 se funded buchtik global®, a company to manage and offer her publications, training, and consulting services in project management in English and Spanish globally. She has been a speaker at major project management and industry events globally including PMI Global Congresses, EXCON 2015 (the 2nd largest Construction FERIA, and the biggest one in Peru), III Latin-American Forum of Government Projects, XLVII CLADEA’s Annual Assembly (Latinamerican CONSEJO of Administration Shcools), PMI Leadership Institute Meetings in USA and Argentina, and at corporation events such as the  COPA Airlines Project Management Day in Panama, or Alcatel-Lucent’s International Project Management Day Simposium, among many others. Distinguished individuals from the project management field such as former PMI CEO, Gregory Balestrero, or PhD. Harold Kerzner, have recognized Liliana´s contributions to the project management profession.

She contributed to the Spanish PMBOK® Guide translation project, the most accepted project management standard globally. Liliana was invited as a panelist of PMI Research Working Sessions, and her articles have been featured at magazines such as PM Network® PMJournal®, both PMI publications, MundoPM in Brazil, Mercedes Benz Magazine, among others (visit Press Room).

Liliana holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Analysis, she graduated from the PMI Leadership Institute Master Class in the United States, and also has a diploma in directing people from ISEDE School of Business.

She was honored with an invitation from the PMI Nominations Committee to be nominated to the PMI Board of Directors at large. She was part of the PMI Ethics Appeals Committee globally and PMI Mentors Member Advisory Group, and was the first PMI Community Mentor for Southern Latin America. In 2004 she was PMI Montevideo Uruguay Chapter President.
